Prerna Puri addresses public concerns at Reasi, reinforcing Govt’s commitment to common masses
REASI, November 29: Commissioner Secretary Information Technology and Information Departments, Prerna Puri took stock of people’s grievances during a Public Darbar here at mini secretariat.
People and representatives from different areas of the district raised issues ranging from infrastructural needs to social welfare concerns, individuals utilized the platform to articulate their grievances, creating an environment conducive to proactive problem-solving.
District Development Council members, BDC Chairpersons, Sarpanchs and delegations comprising of prominent citizens, Self Help Groups, NGOs attended the event and put forth their grievances and submitted memorandum of demands as well.
Heads of various government departments participated in the event, demonstrating a collective effort towards resolving community concerns.
During the darbar, the public raised plethora of issues before the Commissioner Secretary like handing over Sula Park to the Floriculture Department, boosting Reasi’s economy through enhanced ShivKhori pilgrimage facilities, re-evaluate toll plaza rates, full fledge functioning of Mother & Child Hospital, upgradation of various schools, compensation for Rabi crop and animal killed by Lumpy disease is pending, opening of J&K Bank Branch in remote areas of district, start services of SRTC services in remote / far flung areas, Implement Single Window System for Grievances, fresh survey of PMAY scheme, power supply and its infrastructure, promotion of Tourism, Jal Jeevan Mission, construction of roads in unconnected/Serve of the areas and other related issues.
During the public darbar, Commissioner Secretary said that a proposal for the installation of a Gandola shall be explored under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
A significant initiative was unveiled during the Darbar session to initiate Road Transport Corporation (RTC) bus services in the remote areas and the issues have been taken up with the concerned departments to expedite the implementation of bus service in remote regions of the district.
In response to the persistent challenges posed by monkey menace intrusions in and around Reasi, Katra, and Panthal areas, proactive measures are being taken to mitigate this issue. She said that a formation of a specialized study team tasked with identifying hotspots and devising effective scientific solutions to address the menace. She also issued a directive emphasizing the urgent need to eliminate road encroachments with the collaborative support of PRI’s, Tehsildars and other executing agencies.
Commissioner Secretary patiently listened to public grievances and assured that their genuine concerns would be addressed in a phased manner.
District Development Commissioner, Vishesh Mahajan unveils plans to organize a festival aimed at propelling tourism in the region. This festive initiative, announced during the Darbar session, embodies a concerted effort to showcase Reasi’s religious, cultural richness and scenic beauty to wider stakeholders.
ADDC Jyoti Slathia, ADC Abdul Star, SP Master Popsy, Joint Director Planning, ACR, ADC, ACP, DIO (Info) Chief Agriculture and Horticulture Officer and other concerned officers were also present in the public darbar.
