President JKPCC Shri Tariq Hameed Karra chairs a meeting of Sikh minority leaders
Jammu, Jan.30 : President JKPCC Shri Tariq Hameed Karra, chaired a meeting of Sikh Minority leaders of JKPCC which was held here today at PCC HQ Shaheedi Chowk Jammu in which various issues of sikh minority people of Jammu and Kashmir were discussed threadbare.
The meeting was attended by S. Gurmukh Singh-former Chairman Legislative Council, T.S. Tony (DDC), S. Gurdarshan Singh, Harvinder Singh Mehta, Manjeet Singh Bedi, Rajinder Singh Nathu, Gajan Singh, Nirmal Singh Mehta, Sandeep Singh Rism, Balbinder Singh Rinku and others.
While highlighting their demands Sikh leaders said that the people of Sikh Minority community in J&K are facing lot of problems and they are not getting their due share in Govt. departments and other spheres of life. They demanded implementation of Punjabi language in JKUT, besides refugee package and political reservation to Sikh community in Rajyasabha and Assembly nomination.
The interaction lasted for over three hours in which the PCC president took the feedback about the organizational affairs especially the sikh minority in party structure at various levels. He listened to the views of sikh minority people and asked them to strengthen congress party in their respective areas, as congress is the only secular party which serves every section of the society equally and can keep India united and strong.
