Prime Video orders second season of supernatural drama show ‘The Rig’
London, Feb 24 (PTI) Prime Video has renewed Scotland-set supernatural drama “The Rig” for a second season.
Actors Iain Glen, Emily Hampshire and Martin Compston are returning for the second installment, which will start filming later this year in Edinburgh, the streamer said in a press release.
The show, created by David Macpherson, and directed by John Strickland, told the story of the Kishorn Bravo oil rig, stationed off the Scottish coast, which is enveloped in a mysterious fog that cuts off all lines of communication.
Season two will see the surviving Kinloch Bravo crew as they are taken off the rig and brought to a new location, where fresh danger awaits. They must contend with swirling conspiracies, conflicts and new threats from the depths of the world’s oceans.
Returning cast members also include Rochenda Sandall, Owen Teale, Mark Addy, Molly Vevers, Abraham Popoola and Stuart McQuarrie.
“The Rig’s popularity around the world is a testament to the fantastic ensemble cast and the vision of the creators—the crew behind the crew. We can’t wait to welcome back Iain, Martin, and Emily, and see what writer and creator David Macpherson has in store for the Kinloch Bravo team next,” said Dan Grabiner, head of Originals UK & Northern Europe, Prime Video
