Principal Secretary chairs meeting to discuss status of co-locate/merger of Anganwadi Centre with primary schools under NEP
Leh, June 10: The Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Ladakh Sanjeev Khirwar, chaired a meeting to discuss the status of co-locate/ merger of anganwadi centres with nearest primary schools under National Education Policy, (NEP) and issues related to children with special needs at PAGIR, Leh.
The CEO Kargil informed the Principal Secretary that 108 Anganwadi centres are co-located/ merged with the schools in the district.
He further informed that remaining co-location of both Anganwadi and schools are being completed in coming days.
The Principal Secretary, SED Ladakh directed to the CEO Kargil for early completion of the exercise to co-locate of the Anganwadi centres and primary schools in the district, wherever feasible.
He further directed to the Deputy Commissioner Kargil to identify the land for the construction of Anganwadi centres near or within habitation.
The Commissioner Secretary Social and Tribal Welfare, Ladakh directed to concerned officers to speed up the co-location of anganwadi centres and schools in a time-bound manner.
The DC Kargil assured that the identification of land for the construction of Anganwadi centre will be done within a week.
The Principal Secretary, SED Ladakh also discussed about the vocational trainings, school-ITI programme. The meeting was informed that 13 such school-ITI programmes were introduced in Ladakh in view of the implementation of NEP in the region.
During the meeting, the status of infrastructure work at the school for CwSN at Chuchoot was also discussed. The Principal Secretary directed to the Director SED, Ladakh to complete the remaining reconstruction work at the earliest.
Commissioner/Secretary Social and Tribal Welfare, Director School Education, Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Chief Education Officer Leh / Kargil, representative from PAGIR, Leh besides other concerned officers were present during the meeting.
