Progress of Jal Jeevan Mission schemes reviewed at Poonch
DC asks engineers to complete all projects within set timeline
POONCH, May 10: District Development Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary today reviewed the progress of works and schemes taken up under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), here at a meeting held in the conference Hall of DC office complex.
The JJM aims to provide the potable drinking water facility to each and every household by 15th August 2023, the timeline set by the Government.
A threadbare discussion was held in connection with the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission Program in the district, besides reviewing other ongoing schemes under NABARD, NRDWP and Languishing projects. The DDC also reviewed the progress of Irrigation & Flood Control works in the District.
Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Circle Poonch, Er Rajinder K. Sharma informed the chair about the progress of JJM and other works taken up under NABARD, NRDWP and Languishing schemes.
He informed that 128 JJM schemes comprising 256 works have been approved for the district at a cost of Rs. 508 crore. He said the works were tendered and allotted to different agencies strictly as per GFR 2017.
He said work on 204 schemes was in progress and 106 Borewells have been completed. He further assured that all the schemes under JJM would be completed within the set timeline.
The DDC exhorted the Field Engineers to work with mission mode to ensure completion of Jal Jeevan Mission Program of the Govt. well before 15th.August 2023, the time line fixed by the government.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Maqsood Ahmed, SE PHE,Er. Rajinder K. Sharma, XEN PHE Er. Riaz Ahmad, XEN I&FC Division Er. Vaneet Vaid, AEEs, AEs and Junior Engineers of the PHE Division Poonch and other concerned officers.
