Prominent Women Activists Unite for Change Under the Leadership of Sh Tara Chand
Jammu, 17 January: A significant meeting of prominent women activists from the Chhamb and Akhnoor assembly took place today demonstrating a formidable commitment to social justice and empowerment in the region. The gathering was spearheaded by the working president and former deputy chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Sh. Tara Chand.
The meeting was graced by the chief guest, Smt. Shameema Raina, the J&K Mahila Congress president. Sharing insights on women’s rights and community engagement, Smt. Raina emphasized the crucial role women play in shaping democratic processes and advocating for constitutional values. She stresses to women to strengthen the Congress party in constituency and booth levels in all assembly constituencies of Jammu. The Mahila Congress works to empower women in Jammu and Kashmir.
During the session, Sh Tara Chand rallied the women activists present, urging them to participate in the upcoming “Samvidhan Bachao Rally Yatra,” scheduled for January 18th. The rally will commence at Satwari Chowk and conclude at Ambedkar Chowk, under the esteemed leadership of J&K Congress President Shri Tariq Hameed Kara Sahab. Sh Tara Chand conveyed that the rally aims to raise awareness about constitutional rights and encourage active civil participation among women.
“Today, we stand at a pivotal moment where the power of women in democracy can no longer be understated,” said Sh Tara Chand. “Together, we will march for our constitutional rights and voice concerns that affect our communities.”
The meeting garnered enthusiastic support from the attendees, characterized by a resolute spirit of solidarity and determination. Women leaders voiced their commitment to once again proving that they are indispensable catalysts for positive change in society.
