Properties worth ₹1.04 crore belonging to notorious drug peddler attached in Jammu
Jammu, 12.09.2024 Continuing its strict action against drug peddlers, Jammu Police today attached two residential houses valuing in crores belonging to notorious drug peddlers namely 1) Javed Ahmed S/0 Abdul Ghani and his son 2) Abdul Majeed @ Bhallu R/0 Lower Ragoora ( Dawara) Jammu under section 68-F(1) of NDPS Act 1985
During the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Jammu Police., it has been established that the property above has been acquired through the proceeds of narcotics trade. The assessment of the above attached property has been done by board of Engineers formed by XeN R&B and Revnue department valuing Rs 1cr 4lac and 71 thousand.
Thus from the assessment reports of Revnue and R&B Department, it was established that the property was prima facie acquired from the proceeds of illicit trafficking in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances by the owner of above mentioned houses which is much more than their legal known source of income.
It is worth mentioning that the said Drug peddlers are involved in Case FIR NOs:-
i) 9/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act PS Nagrota,Jammu.
ii) 33/2020 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act PS Janipur,Jammu
iii) 39/2019 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act PS Bagh e bahu Jammu
It is also pertinent to mention here that four more properties worth crores already stand freezed in Rajeev Nagar area(three properties) of PS Bahufort and Ragoora (one property) area of PS Bagh-e-Bahu by Jammu police in last 5 months.
The whole operation was supervised by SSP Jammu.
This operation reaffirms the commitment and dedication of Jammu Police to combat the drug menace with full force and invoke the stringent provisions of law to nail down the persons involved in drug peddling and set example by seizing and freezing the material gains acquired through the illicit drug trade.
Local people of the area, common citizens and netizens of Jammu have hailed the initiative of Jammu Police with regard to the attachment of immoveable property, which has been raised/ used from illicit trafficking of narcotics by the drug peddlers in the District Jammu.
