PSPS GCW Gandhi Nagar organises Orientation Lecture & extension lecture on NEP 2020
JAMMU, April 12: Alumni Association in collaboration with Career Counselling and Placement Cell of Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government College for Women Gandhinagar Jammu today organised an orientation lecture on “Career Opportunities in All India Radio – The Roadmap for the College students.”
The Programme started with the formal welcome of the Resource Person for the day- Madhvi Sharma, Senior Broadcaster, All India Radio, the most Vibrant and Adorable Personality really blessed by the Goddess Saraswati; Prof. Minu Mahajan, Principal of the College, the galaxy of Intellectuals and the students.
Prof. Minu Mahajan expressed gratitude to Madhvi, the Alumna of PSPS GCW Gandhinagar (1984 Batch) who readily agreed to act as torchbearer for the students in the world of Radio.
She also encouraged the students to keep the flame of curiosity always on and learn by experience, recognize their strength and set the goals.
Madhvi, in her mesmerizing voice, motivated the students to be part of Radio world to polish their communication skills, overall personality and maintain a connection with regional languages to bloom and grow. She also enlightened the students about the Casual Announcer Test and other posts advertised in the radio.
The Proceedings of the programme were conducted by Prof. Sugandha and concluded with the formal Vote of thanks by Prof. Neelam Thapa.
The whole programme was coordinated by Prof. Rajni Kumari, Convener Career Counseling Cell and members – Prof.Renu Rajput , Prof. Malti Rajput, Prof. Suman Bala and Prof. Rajinder Kumar.
PG Department of Food Science and Technology in collaboration with IQAC of PSPS Government college for women Gandhi Nagar Jammu organized one day Extension Lecture on the Topic “SCOPE OF FOOD PROCESSING IN JK UT AND VARIOUS SCHEMES FOR UNEMPLOYED YOUTH” to enlighten the young minds towards entrepreneurship development in Food processing sector.
Dr. Anuradha Gandotra, HOD Food Science welcomed the resource person Dr. Gul Syed, Chief Canning And Processing Instructor (Dy Director), Fruit and Vegetable Craft Centre, Chand Nagar Jammu, Principal, staff and students present. Prof. Minu Mahajan, Principal of the college was the chairperson of the event.
Dr. Gul Syed gave deep insight into the topic and motivated students to become entrepreneurs as various schemes have been launched by the government with a view towards ensuring self employment opportunities.
A total of 58 students attended the lecture.
Principal Prof. Minu Mahajan appreciated the efforts of the department and encouraged students to become job providers rather than job seekers. The programme was organised by the staff members of the department and coordinated by Neha Pandita and Jaskiran Kour PG student of the department.
