Public awareness programme held in Block Assar
DODA, June 16: As a part of the Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) 2023, the health department organized an awareness programme in Block Assar, here the other day.
The programme was held under the supervision of Chief Medical officer, Dr Ab Hamid Zargar and guidance of Block Medical Officer Assar Dr Tanveer Ahmed and attended by a large number of locals.
A team of health workers thoroughly explained the cause of diarrhoea among the children and adults and acquainted the participants about the precautionary measures, interventions and preparation of ORS at home and its uses.
Elaborating further, the team said that the ultimate aim of Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight is to achieve zero child deaths due to childhood diarrhoea.
The health department stressed on mass participation in the awareness campaigns to minimize the child mortality due to diarrhea.
Pertinent to mention here that District Health Society Doda is organizing such activities in all medical blocks as a part of IDCF 2023, wherein different activities were carried out like hand washing demonstration in schools, outreach camps and distribution of ORS and Zinc tablets.
The health team comprising of Ashiq Hussain (CHO/DAC), Sunil Gupta (Phst), Shahida Begum (FMPHW), Saba Shafket (MLHP), Rubia Anjum (BAC) and local ASHAs rendered their services during the awareness camp.
