Punjab govt transfers 38 IAS, 1 PCS officer with immediate effect
Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], September 12 (ANI): In a major reshuffle, the Punjab government on Thursday transferred 38 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and one Punjab Civil Services (PCS) officer.
Vikas Pratap of the 1994 IAS batch has been transferred as Additional Chief Secretary, Excise.
Rajat Oberoi, a PCS officer, has been transferred, who earlier was Additional Chief Administrator, Amritsar Development Authority.
“The posting has been ordered with immediate effect,” the order said.
Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann assured the youth of job security and criticised the previous government for not being considerate towards the youth of the state while speaking at an appointment letter distribution ceremony in Chandigarh.
A total of 293 people received their appointment letters to various departments in the ceremony held on September 7.
While congratulating the new appointees, the Chief Minister said that the government is preparing even bigger positions for the people.
“Congratulations to you and your family. Nothing is impossible in this world. In the past, the youth had given up hope, but now their hopes have been fulfilled. Our government is preparing even bigger chairs for you,” said the CM.
The CM urged the new appointees that, unlike previous leaders, they should never take a bribe in their position.
“The system was bad for 75 years, but we will fix it slowly even if it takes time to fix it. You people have come from humble backgrounds, so I appeal to you that in your new positions, do not take any bribes from people,” the CM said.
According to the government, a total of 293 appointment letters were made during the ceremony. Out of which 263 of them were under the health department, 9 were under technical education, and the other 21 letters were under the water supply department.
