Quality Seedlings distributed among beneficiaries at Shopian

SHOPIAN, APRIL 15: In a proactive step towards boosting agricultural productivity and supporting the local farming community, the Department of Agriculture Shopian today distributed high-quality vegetable and fruit seedlings at Mini-Secretariat Shopian.

The initiative is part of the department’s ongoing efforts under various centrally sponsored schemes to promote sustainable agriculture and ensure timely availability of inputs to the farmers.

A wide variety of seedlings including knol khol, tomato, cucumber, squash and other exotic varieties of vegetables were made available to the beneficiaries.

The department staff also provided on-the-spot technical guidance on nursery management, transplanting techniques and organic cultivation methods to help farmers get the best yield.

The officials of the Agriculture Department highlighted the government’s commitment to doubling farmers’ income and encouraged the use of high-quality varieties for better output.

The farmers expressed gratitude for the timely support and quality of the seedlings provided to them on the occasion.
