Rahul Pandey chairs review meeting on Jal Jeevan Mission in Kathua

Meeting accords approval for construction of 20 tubewells at identified locations

KATHUA, APRIL 08: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rahul Pandey today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in the district.

At the outset, Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Ashwani Kumar apprised the Deputy Commissioner about the physical and financial progress achieved under Jal Jeevan Mission in the district.

It was given out in the meeting that out of total 820 works 751 works have been tendered wherein construction of tubewells, borewells and piped networks are being constructed across the district under approved 299 works for the district.

The DC laid thrust on removing all bottlenecks including requisite forest clearance so as to achieve saturation of all the works within current fiscal.

The meeting decided to go ahead with the construction of 20 Tube Well as part of the District Jal Jeevan Mission plan to augment drinking water infrastructure at identified locations.

The DC also discussed in length the contingency plan to cater the drinking water supply demand during peak summer season at vulnerable parts of the district.
