Rajasthan ex-DyCM addresses rallies in Udhampur, Nagrota

Jammu, September 29:- All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary and former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot on Sunday cautioned the people against divisive policies of the BJP.

Addressing meetings in favour of party candidate Sumeet Magotra in Udhampur West and Balbir Singh in Nagrota, Mr. Pilot launched a scathing attack on the BJP, accusing the party of bulldozing democratic institutions and disregarding democratic values.

“The BJP’s actions in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly since downgrading of a full-fledged state into a Union

Territory, have been a stark reminder of their disdain for democratic principles,” Mr Pilot said.

“They have consistently undermined the rights of the people, ignored the aspirations of the youth, and divided communities for political gains.”, he said.

Mr. Pilot emphasized that the Congress party stands committed to restoring democracy and secularism in Jammu and Kashmir.

“We will fight tirelessly to ensure that the people’s voices are heard, their rights are protected, and their future is secured”, he said.

Referring to the ongoing elections in Jammu and Kashmir, Mr Pilot urged the people to reject the BJP’s divisive politics and vote for a government that truly represents their interests.

“These elections are a crucial opportunity for the people of Jammu and Kashmir to choose between a party that seeks to divide and a party that seeks to unite”, he said.

Mr Pilot’s impassioned appeal resonated with the crowd, as he said, “Let us join hands to build a brighter future for Jammu and Kashmir, a future built on democratic values, secularism, and the principles of justice and equality.”.

He criticized the BJP for focusing on polarizing the society instead of addressing key issues.

Former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan warned that the BJP’s policies have been detrimental to the poor and marginalized, saying, “The BJP’s anti-poor agenda has left the state crippled, and now is the time for the people to rise against it”.

Reflecting on the BJP’s track record, he said, “For over a decade, the BJP has made grand promises in Jammu and Kashmir, but has delivered little. Their pledge of creating 5 lakh jobs remains a hollow slogan, while unemployment continues to soar, leaving the people struggling”.

He highlighted the critical issue of unemployment, pointing out that over 70 crore people across the country remain jobless, a figure that reflects the BJP’s failure to address this pressing concern.

He also accused the BJP of serving the interests of big business houses while neglecting the needs of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Reaffirming the Congress party’s commitment to restoring statehood for Jammu and Kashmir, Mr Pilot expressed frustration with the BJP’s delays. “Restoring statehood is a crucial issue, but the BJP has intentionally delayed it to tighten its grip on the state’s resources. The people of Jammu and Kashmir won’t be deceived by these tactics.”, he said.

He also emphasized the Congress party’s resolve to defeat the BJP and reverse its harmful policies. “Our priority is clear: defeat the BJP, restore statehood, and protect the country from their anti-poor agenda,” he  said, urging voters to join Congress in this fight for dignity and prosperity.

Mr. Pilot concluded by reiterating Congress’s commitment to addressing key issues like unemployment, inflation, and the lack of development under the BJP.

“We pledge to create sustainable employment opportunities for our youth and to ensure that growth benefits all citizens, not just big business houses. The BJP has failed the people of Jammu and Kashmir, and it’s time for change”, he said.

He urged voters to support Congress candidates, stating, “We are fighting for your future, and together we can reclaim our state’s dignity and prosperity”.
