Rajouri admin, BRO conduct demolition drive for highway widening

RAJOURI, April 08: The district administration and the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) conducted a demolition drive in Saranoo village along National Highway 144A. The drive was carried out to clear the area for the highway’s widening project, which is being undertaken by the BRO.

Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal directed the drive, during which 18 structures were demolished. These structures were built on private land but had to be removed due to the highway’s expansion.

The District Administration has sanctioned compensation for the affected owners and requested that encroachers cooperate with authorities. The administration is committed to completing the NH144A widening project on time to improve connectivity and reduce travel time.

The administration is working with the BRO to ensure that the project is executed efficiently. The public is requested to support the government’s efforts and cooperate with authorities during the project.
