Rajouri admin mulls to take up tourism, other projects on Public-Private Partnership mode
RAJOURI, APRIL 04: Additional District Development Commissioner, Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa today convened a meeting to discuss the projects proposed to be undertaken under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode.

The meeting, held in the office chamber of the ADDC, focused on exploring the feasibility of the developmental projects aimed at enhancing tourism, infrastructure, and public amenities in the district.
Dr. Thapa emphasized the urgent need for a comprehensive pre-feasibility study for each proposed project to assess their viability under the PPP model.
The projects discussed during the meeting included Ropeway from Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah Shrine at Shahdara to Seeri, Ropeway from Shakar Marg Darhal to Seven Lakes, Construction of a Modern Tourist Reception Centre (TRC) with Cafeteria, Parking, Public Convenience Services (PCS), Shopping Complex at Shahdara Sharief, Construction of a Modern TRC with similar facilities at Tatapani Barmandal, Development of a Modern Park at Alpha Gate Phalyana & construction of a Cinema Hall and Multi-Storey Car Parking Facility in Rajouri Town
Dr. Thapa directed the concerned departments to submit detailed feasibility reports for each project, clearly outlining the potential benefits and sustainability of implementing them under the PPP framework.
The ADDC reiterated the administration’s commitment to exploring innovative solutions for infrastructure development, with a focus on public-private collaboration to boost tourism and economic growth in the district.
The meeting was attended by GM DIC, Fareed Ahmed Kohli; Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Sheraz Chouhan; Chief Planning Officer, Maqsood Ahmed; Assistant Commissioner Development, Vijay Kumar Verma; Executive Engineer, Sardar Khan; Executive Officer Municipality, Yousaf ul Umar; and Tourist Officer, Mumtaz Ahmed.
