Ramban: Enforcement team inspects quality of food served to pilgrims

RAMBAN, JULY 04: To check the safety and quality of food served to the Shri Amarnath Yatra pilgrims, the Designated Officer Food Safety Ramban, Dev Dutt Sharma along with block Food Safety Officer Balbeer Singh, MFTV Analyst Haseeb Javid today conducted a thorough inspection of langars at Yatri Niwas Base Camp Chanderkote.


During the inspection, the Food Safety Officer checked the hygiene and sanitation conditions of the langars. The team inquired about the medical checkup of food handlers and stressed on them to wear proper uniforms and gloves.


They collected and tested 40 Food samples through MFTV (MOBILE Food testing van) and all samples were found to confirm the standard under FSSR.


Additionally, the Food Safety Officer conducted training sessions for the Sevadars (volunteers) on proper food handling, preparation, and serving practices to prevent food contamination and ensure food safety.


The inspection and training aimed to ensure safe and wholesome food to the pilgrims.
