Ramban Gears Up: EVM Demo drives reach 12,000 voters
RAMBAN, DECEMBER 30: The Ramban District Election Department is taking big steps to educate voters about electronic voting. Led by District Election Officer Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, the district election department has used EVM Demo Vans to reach 77 polling locations and teach around 12,000 voters how to use Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
The primary objective of the EVM Demo Vans is to ensure that voters, especially those newly registered, are well-informed and confident in utilizing electronic voting systems for the upcoming elections. This proactive measure is part of the preparations for the Lok Sabha Elections in 2024. The program includes setting up of EVM Demonstration Centres at various levels, such as EROs, Sub Division and Tehsil providing comprehensive awareness and hands-on training to both voters and employees from different departments.
Jahangir Hashmi, the Programme Officer for ICDS and Nodal Officer for SVEEP, highlighted the valuable learning opportunity these efforts provide for the upcoming elections. The commitment of the Election team in Ramban is directed towards facilitating a well-informed and participatory electoral process, with a focus on covering all polling locations.
According to DC Ramban, “This initiative shows our dedication to transparent elections and educating voters as we get ready for the Lok Sabha Elections in 2024.”
