Ramban:  Illicit timber seized, one arrested for green felling

RAMBAN, April 25: A team of Ramban Forest Division led by Range Officer Altaf Hussain Wani and Block Officer Rajgarh Charan Dass Manhas today arrested a man for illegal green felling in compartment 58/R Rajgarh Block.

Based on the preliminary inquiry, the accused was arrested under relevant sections of the Indian Forest Act, 1927. In this regard, damage Case No. 01/2023-24 for violation of section 26 and 69 A of Indian Forest Act, 1927 has been registered by Range Office Ramban and illicit timber has been seized and further investigation has started.

The accused was produced before the Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Ramban and 04 day custody has been granted to the Range Officer Ramban. The whole operation was carried out under the guidance of Conservator of Forests Chenab Circle Doda, Dr. Jitendra Kumar and DFO Ramban Dr Rajan Singh.
