Ramban Police pay tributes to Police Martyrs on National Police Commemoration Day
RAMBAN, October 21: National Police Commemoration Day ceremony was organized by Ramban police at DPL Ground to pay Homage to Martyrs.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Ramban, Mohita Sharma led the officers and personnel of J&K Police and J&K IRP in paying the floral tributes to the martyrs on National Police Commemoration Day observed at Shaheed Smarak in the District Police Lines Ramban.
At the outset, the SSP read out the names of those 189 Martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty in one year.
DC Ramban, Mussarat Islam, President MC Ramban, Sunita Sumberia, Commandant IRP 16TH BN, Pawan Parihar and other Officers graced the occasion along with senior citizens.
Every year, October 21 is observed as National Police Commemoration Day in memory of all police personnel, who were martyred by the Chinese in 1959. Their photographs were garlanded and a traditional police salute with ‘Shok Shashtra’ was performed by the police personnel. More than 100 family members of Martyrs across the District attended the function.
Meanwhile, they all paid floral tributes to the martyrs of Police at the Police Memorial in DPL.
SSP and DC also heard the grievances of the next of kin’s or family members of the martyrs and assured them early redressal of the same.
