Ramen Deka takes oath as Chhattisgarh Governor; CM Sai extends wishes
Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], July 31 (ANI): Ramen Deka took the oath of office as the Governor of Chhattisgarh at a function held at Raj Bhavan.
After taking the oath, Deka said, “I am very happy to be the Governor of Chhattisgarh. I will make sure that Chhattisgarh marches ahead to become a developing state. And for that, I will work as a mediator between the Government of Chhattisgarh and the Central Government.”
“I will try my best to solve the geopolitical issues, work on them, and express my views,” he added.
Extending his heartfelt wishes to Deka on this occasion, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said, “Today Ramen Deka has taken oath as the new Governor of Chhattisgarh. I extend him my best wishes. Chhattisgarh has very old ties with Assam.”
“A large number of people from Chhattisgarh have shifted to Assam to work in the tea gardens and have settled there. These people have been there for generations, and many of them have become MLAs and MPs,” CM Sai said.
“The friendship of Assam and Chhattisgarh will deepen further, and I am sure Chhattisgarh will make rapid progress under the guidance between Ramen Deka,” he added.
Earlier on Tuesday, July 30, CM Vishnu Deo Sai bid farewell to former Governor Biswabhushan Harichandran in Mana.
Speaking to ANI, Sai said that, under the leadership of former Chhattisgarh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan, the state has developed in many sectors.
“Our government had his (Biswabhushan Harichandan’s) blessings and support. Under his leadership, our state developed in many sectors. Today, his tenure has been completed, so we bid him farewell. He has assured me that he will maintain his relations with the people of Chhattisgarh,” he said.
Sai also took to X, bidding farewell to the former governor. “Today we all bid farewell to the Honourable Governor Shri Bishwabhushan Harichandan Ji at the State Hangar in Mana. He left for Bhubaneswar. Chhattisgarh has established new dimensions of progress under the guidance of the honourable governor. I wish him a long and healthy life. He said that his love and affection for the people of Chhattisgarh will remain lifelong,” he said.
The farewell ceremony was organised at the State Hangar in Mana, after which Biswabhusan Harichandan left for Bhubaneswar.
