Ranvijay Singh pays glorious tributes to Maharaja Hari Singh on his 128th Birth Anniversary
Launches free education drive under ‘Aabha’ to educate 10 underprivileged girls; cuts 128-Kg Ladoo at Tawi Bridge
JAMMU, September 23: Ranvijay Singh, the Great Grandson of Maharaja Hari Singh, paid heartfelt tributes to the renowned monarch on his 128th birth anniversary today. The commemorative event took place with great fervor and reverence, encompassing various locations around Jammu.
To begin the day’s proceedings, Ranvijay Singh visited Delhi Public School, Jammu, and participated in a special Pooja conducted within the school premises. This auspicious ceremony was attended by School Management and esteemed guests, who joined together in paying homage to Maharaja Hari Singh.
Subsequently, Ranvijay Singh, who is also the Trustee of Maharaja Hari Singh Social and Education Foundation, J&K, attended another program organized at DPS Nagbani, where he paid a reverential tribute to the great Maharaja Hari Singh.
Notably, the programme was organized by DPS, Nagbani in collaboration with DPS Katra.
Carrying the legacy of Maharaja Hari Singh Foundation forward towards education, Ranvijay Singh has launched a free education drive under titled ‘Aabha— Tamaso Ma Jyotirgamaya” (Lead me from darkness to light) in which the Foundation will provide free education to ten underprivileged girls from both the schools.
After inaugurating the free education drive, Ranvijay Singh handed over some cash rewards to some underprivileged girls for their education. He informed that the Foundation will provide education to ten underprivileged girls 5 each at Delhi Public School Nagbani and Delhi Public School Katra.
He asserted that the Maharaja Hari Singh Social & Education Foundation is committed to follow the principles of Maharaja Hari Singh ji by providing free education to girl children free of cost. “The aim was to provide quality education to underprivileged girls, aligning with Maharaja Hari Singh’s vision of equitable education for all,” he added.
Continuing the series of commemorative activities, Ranvijay Singh performed a Special Abhishek of Bhagwan Shiv at the ancient Shri Ranbireshwar Temple in Jammu.
Following this, he accompanied by the President of J&K Dharmarth Trust, paid their respects to the revered Maharaja Hari Singh. As a token of gratitude and devotion, Halwa Parsad was distributed among the visiting devotees, symbolizing the inclusivity and generosity that Maharaja Hari Singh stood for.
To conclude the day’s events, Ranvijay Singh participated in the birth anniversary celebrations of Maharaja Hari Singh at his statue on Tawi Bridge. In a momentous occasion, Ranvijay Singh cut a magnificent 128-kg Ladoo, specially made by the Maharaja Hari Singh Sena, to mark the extraordinary milestone.
During the tributes paid to Maharaja Hari Singh, Ranvijay Singh shed light on the progressive reforms implemented by the beloved monarch during his reign. He recalled that the Maharaja ensured free and compulsory girl education, widow remarriage, flood control channel, irrigation canal, environment and forest protection laws, local handicraft promotion, sericulture, protection to small traders, etc. “Besides J&K Bank and erstwhile J&K High Court were also started during the regime of Maharaja Hari Singh”, he added.
Ranvijay Singh said that Maharaja Hari Singh during his coronation in 1926 had said that “Justice is his religion”, and during his life he proved this assertion through his deeds which were impartial and exemplary.
Ranvijay Singh said that people of J&K should continue to spread awareness about the rich cultural legacy of the erstwhile state of J&K through all possible means because this will help them to connect with the soil and the heritage of this great Duggarland which always stood for justice and secular credentials
