Rapid development of under-developed colonies necessity to make “Jammu Smart City”: Baru
JAMMU, January 16: The rapid development of the under-developed colonies, and early and proper delimitation of Wards before upcoming ULB elections is necessary to make “Jammu Smart City” stated BJP senior leader and former JMC Councillor Sanjay Kumar Baru while addressing, prominent residents of JMC Ward-32, Seora, Nandani and adjoining villages at Gol Gojral in Jammu west Assembly Constituency in the presence of former Sarpanches Raj Kumar Babbi, Sr. Avinash Singh and social leader Ramesh Bakshi.
Sanjay Baru said that all these Panchayats were included in Jammu West Constituency recently during the delimitation of Assembly Constituencies and adjoining villages were added in Jammu Municipal Corporation in the last JMC elections, but the way the new wards were created by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), some of them were very big with population and area wise, so despite the sincere efforts, those areas could not be developed as per requirements. In order to cope with the situation before the upcoming elections, delimitation of all Wards of Jammu Municipal Corporation has been done.
On the occasion, Baru also interacted with the locals and listened to the problems faced by them.
Local Residents raised the issues like Black topping of lanes, proper transportation, Street lights, collection of dirty water because of an absent drainage system etc.
Locals requested the Senior BJP leader to ensure the opening up of the blocked main approach road by the JDA, connecting to the residential colony at camp Gole Gujaral, Shree Rama Chandra mission, village Khearian, Trilokpur, Seora, Ranjitpur, Khanpur, Nandani, Raipur Jagir, Power Grid Station.
Baru assured the local people that he had already taken up the matter with the concerned department officials and added that under the Modi government, the long pending public issues are being addressed as per the aspirations of the people.
Sr. Gian Singh, Ashok Sharma, Mushtaq Ahmed, Yog Raj Sharma, Prof. Waqar, Kaku Ram, former Panch Kalu Ram, Lamberdar Sohan Lal, Jaga Jatt permanent residents and others were present on the occasion.
