Reasi admin discuss activity plan for World Environment Day

DC calls for promotion of eco friendly-lifestyle, Spreading mass awareness, maximizing Green cover

REASI, JUNE 03: Deputy Commissioner, Babila Rakwal, today chaired a meeting to discuss the activity plan for World Environment Day.

The DC listed various activities to spread awareness about environment conservation and  greening of the region.

She asked the stakeholder departments to imbibe a sense of responsibility among youth regarding the environment protection and  disturbance of ecological balance.  The DC further said that the need of the hour is to adopt a comprehensive policy that aims to protect our fragile environment.

Directions were issued to officers to clean the road from Domail to Reasi and launch a plantation drive to maximize greenery around the Reasi Fort, Mini secretariat, Sports stadium and District Hospital.

The DC further asked to spread awareness on issues like air pollution, plastic pollution, noise pollution, global warming and consequently degradation of environment.

The DC urged the officers to launch tree plantation drives, use leftover stalks as fodder and cut down the use of plastic goods.

CPO Reasi, ACR Reasi, ACD, DIO Reasi, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Horticulture Officer, agriculture officer also present in the meeting.
