Reasi administration launches awareness drives on water conservation and drug abuse prevention
REASI, March 23: Deputy Commissioner, Babila Rakwal and Executive Engineer Jal Shakti, Rakesh Gupta flagged off the Jal Jeevan Mission Prachar Rath today.
The Prachar Rath will create awareness about water testing, hygiene and sanitation, Pani Samitis’ roles and water conservation. It will travel to all seven blocks in the district to spread awareness about the JJM schemes launched by Prime Minister of India with the slogan “HAR GHAR NAL SE JAL”. The Prachar Rath is being run by ISA society for scheduled and backward hired by the Jal Shakti department for IEC activities.
In another event, Additional District Development Commissioner, Jyoti Slathia inaugurated cultural programmes on drug addiction held at Bus Stand, Chowk Chabutra and near Ganesh Mandir in Reasi town. The event was organised by Information Department Reasi under Mission Youth.
During her address, the ADDC stated that the purpose of such seminars was to educate people on the harmful effects of drug abuse and to discuss ways to rehabilitate those affected. Kud dance was also performed to raise awareness about the ill effects of drug abuse. Youths were encouraged to become brand ambassadors against drug abuse in society and promote communal harmony.
