Reasi gets Rs 42 Crore project for promotion of round the year Mushroom Cultivation
REASI, March 06: A training session on Mushroom cultivation and farm Mechanization was held today here under the chairmanship of Chief Agriculture Officer Reasi, Harbans Singh.
In his inaugural address, the CAO said that Reasi district has bagged an Rs 42 crore project which will be implemented in next three years for promotion of round the year mushroom cultivation for sustainability and profitability. As many as 26 pasteurised compost making units, 10 spawn production labs and 72 controlled conditioned cropping rooms (2000 bags capacity) would be established in three years under the project, he added. He informed that the focus of the project under farm Mechanization is to raise the level of farm power availability from 1.74 kw/ha to 2.5 kw/ha.
Head KVK, Reasi, Banarasi Lal highlighted the importance of Mushroom cultivation and Farm Mechanization in generating the income as well as employment among the farming community.
SMS Reasi, Kewal Krishan Sharma deliberated in detail on constraints, objectives, outcome of round the year production of Mushrooms and scope of medical mushroom. Topics like value addition and marketing of mushrooms were also discussed.
Farm Manager, KVK Reasi, Arvinder Kumar, through PowerPoint Presentation, covered different aspects of Farm Mechanization. He said Embellishment of CHCs/FMBs, Promotion of Area specific machinery, Precision Agriculture are the focus points of the Project.
Others who participated in the training included District Agriculture officer (Extension), Rajesh Verma, SMS DL, Amit Sharma, ASCO, Varinder Dogra, and Sub division Agriculture officer Dharmari, Rupinder Pal Singh Bedi, SDAO Reasi, Vinod Khajuria, SMSs , AEOs and other field functionaries.
