Reasi police arrests notorious drug peddler, recovers ganja
In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Reasi Police arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered 53 grams of ganja from his possession during a surprise naka checking conducted under Operation Jeevandan.

The accused, identified as Amit Kumar, was apprehended at Balini area by a police team from Katra Police Station. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against him, and an investigation is underway to unearth his links.
Sharing the details, SSP Reasi Mohita Sharma informed that the Reasi Police is adopting a multi-pronged strategy to tackle the drug menace. Awareness programs are being conducted across the district to educate the public about the dangers of drug abuse, while strict action is being taken against peddlers. An Anti-Drug Helpline Number (9070907017) has also been launched to encourage people to report drug activities while maintaining anonymity.
SSP Sharma issued a stern warning to drug peddlers, stating that there is no place for them in Reasi. She urged them to abandon this path of destroying the younger generation and urged them to integrate into society. Strict action will be taken against those who continue to peddle drugs, she added.
