Reasi police foils bovine smuggling attempts: 3 arrested in illegal transportation
Reasi police have foiled a bovine smuggling attempt at Dera Baba and arrested two drivers, Rafaqit Ali and Mohd Zabir, who were transporting one and two bovine animals respectively without DM permission. The vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02CS-9920 and JK20B-3706 were intercepted during Naka checking at Dera Baba.
Two FIRs have been registered as Case FIR No. 06/2024 U/S 188/IPC and FIR No. 07/2024 U/S 188/IPC at P/S Reasi, and the vehicles have been seized. An investigation has been initiated.
In another incident, the police team of Pouni foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued two bovine animals from the clutches of Balvinder Kumar, who was carrying them by foot from Jammu District to Rajouri via Pouni. The accused has been arrested and a case FIR No. 02/2024 U/S 188/IPC, 11(1)(a) PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Pouni. The investigation is ongoing.
It is pertinent to note that Reasi Police, under the supervision of SSP Reasi, has established zero tolerance towards bovine smuggling and is committed to eradicating the menace of bovine smuggling from the district.
