Reasi police seizes illicit liquor & narcotics; several drug smugglers nabbed
Continuing their relentless drive against drug abuse and illicit liquor, the District Reasi Police conducted successful operations resulting in the arrest of suspects and the seizure of illegal substances.

In a proactive move, the Police received credible information about the illegal sale of Desi Liquor by Mangi Singh in the vicinity of Village Kheralaid, Tehsil Pouni, District Reasi. A raid was promptly conducted by the Police, leading to the seizure of 10 liters of illicit liquor from Mangi Singh’s possession. Furthermore, 55 liters of Lahan were destroyed on the spot. A case has been registered against him under the Excise Act.
In another incident, a Naka Party of P/S Katra intercepted two individuals who attempted to evade the Police. Upon inspection, they were found to be carrying 9.50 grams of a substance similar to Heroin and 09 grams of a substance resembling Opium. Both individuals, Mehnga Singh and Namsroop Singh, have been taken into custody, and a case has been registered against them under the NDPS Act.
Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi, Amit Gupta, asserted that the Reasi Police remain unwavering in their efforts to combat drug abuse and illicit liquor smuggling in the region. He urged the public to cooperate with the Police in their mission to eradicate this menace from society.
