Reasi police thwarts bovine smuggling, rescues 13 animals; two smugglers arrested
Continuing their crackdown on bovine smuggling, Reasi police thwarted an attempt in Arnas. Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted Rashid Ahmed Qureshi, a resident of Hunder, Arnas, as he was transporting seven bovine animals towards Kashmir without proper authorization.
FIR No. 38/2024 U/S 188 IPC 11 PCA Act has been filed at Arnas Police Station, with Inspector Vijay Kumar leading the operation under the supervision of SDPO Arnas, Irfan Khan-JKPS.

In a separate incident, a patrol team from PP Dewal apprehended Mumtaz Ali from Jij Bagli, Reasi, for carrying six bovine animals without authorization. FIR No. 22/2024 U/S 188 IPC Act has been registered at Mahore Police Station, with Inspector Charanjeet Singh leading the operation under the supervision of SDPO Mahore, Ajaz Ahmed-JKPS.
Mohita Sharma-IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi, emphasized that the police are employing a multifaceted approach to tackle bovine smuggling and are committed to eradicating this menace from society.
