Red Ribbon Club at GDC Kilhotran organised Successful Events to Promote Community-Led Awareness about HIV/AIDS

KISHTWAR, December 09: The Red Ribbon Club at GDC Kilhotran recently organized a painting competition with the theme “Let Communities Lead” to raise awareness about a fatal disease. The event, held under the overall supervision of College Principal Dr. Javid Iqbal, aimed to engage students in promoting awareness about HIV/AIDS.

Simultaneously, a human chain was formed in the college campus on the same day to express solidarity with those affected by the disease(HIV/AIDS). The dual events sought to underscore the importance of community involvement in addressing health challenges.

In the poster-making competition, over twenty talented students participated, showcasing their creativity and commitment to the cause. The competition saw Muzamil Mustfa, Sakshi Jaral, and Mohammed Azhar securing the first, second, and third positions, respectively. Their exceptional artwork conveyed powerful messages about community leadership in combating fatal diseases.

The events concluded on a high note with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Prof Majid Gani Zargar. He expressed gratitude to all participants, highlighting the crucial role played by Heads of Departments (HODs) from various disciplines in ensuring the success of both initiatives.
