Relief organizes prize distribution function
JAMMU, October 31: On the concluding day of calendar of events organized by Relief Organization (M) J&K, a prize distribution function was organized at Surya Bhawan Jammu wherein Secretary, DMRR&R, Nazim Zai Khan, distributed prizes among the winners of various competitions.
Relief Organization organized calendar of events for the Kashmiri Migrants in camps and in Migrant Schools. More than 2000 migrant students studying in Migrant Schools participated in the competitions viz, painting, essay writing, declamation and run for fun. These competitions were held for the age groups of 5-8 years, 8-12 years and 12-16 years. For the first time, Run for Fun race was also organized for senior citizens aged 50 years and above. For more inclusivity, Wheel Chair Race for specially abled and Run for Fun for visually impaired was also organized at Jagti on the Special Track constructed by the Relief Organisation for the purpose.
A total of 200 prizes and certificates were distributed among the winners.
Also 06 wheel chairs were given to the winners of Wheel Chair Race through Social Welfare Department.
As a major initiative towards Swachhta Hi Sewa, Cleanliness competition were held across the zones/offices of Relief Organisation and in Migrant Schools.
Among the offices, office of Camp Commandant Muthi was awarded the Prize of “Swachh Premises” and among the schools Government Mixed Higher Secondary School Purkhoo was awarded the prize of “Swachh School” by the Secretary.
Nazim Zai Khan appreciated the efforts of the Relief Organisation, and congratulated the winners of the competitions. He assured that the Government is committed towards welfare of migrants and shall support all the initiatives in this regard.
Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, K.K Sidha, committed that more such events shall be organized for making the migrants free from stress, encourage all towards physical fitness and Swachhta Hi Sewa Programme. She also the sensitized all towards the initiatives of the department and appealed all Kashmiri Migrants to take benefit of the same.
