Religious fervor marks observance of annual Urs of Shah Asrar-ud-Din (RA) at Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, NOVEMBER 10: The annual Urs of Hazarat Shah Asrar-ud-Din (RA) was observed today with religious fervor as devotees from across the District Kishtwar and other parts of Jammu and Kashmir visited the Sufi Shrine and participated in special prayers.

One of the most revered saints of the Kishtwar District, Shah Asrar (RA) is equally venerated by all communities depicting the innate composite culture of Jammu and Kashmir. Every year thousands of devotees from all walks of life and different regions throng the shrine of the Shah Asrar-ud-Din (RA) to pay their reverence to the Seventeenth Century Sufi Saint and seek his blessings.

District administration, in collaboration with the Waqf Board J&K, has made elaborate arrangements for the convenience of devotees who had come all the way from different parts of J&K to be part of the spiritual congregation.

Deputy Commissioner Dr Devansh Yadav along with the senior functionaries of the Civil and police administration including Administrator Waqf Board Zakir Hussain visited the shrine and the complex area to inspect the arrangements, besides seeking blessings after paying obeisance at the shrine. 

All the line departments were directed by the DC to provide all facilities to the devotees like uninterrupted power supply, safe drinking water, essential items, security, transport, sanitation.

A control room was established by the district Administration in collaboration with the Police Department and District Information Centre, to facilitate the pilgrims.
