“Responsible Chief Minister being harassed”: JMM spokesperson on ED issuing summons to Hemant Soren
Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], August 19 (ANI): Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) spokesperson Manoj Pandey on Saturday condemned the summons issued by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) to Chief Minister Hemant Soren in a money laundering case, and termed it as ‘harassment to a responsible CM’.
“Chief Minister Sorend had already clearly said that legal action will be taken if ED will not withdraw these summons. We will certainly take refuge in the law because justice will be found there,” Manoj Pandey said while speaking to ANI.
“A responsible Chief Minister is being harassed. He is being prevented from working. Perhaps BJP people do not know how many responsibilities a Chief Minister has,” Pandey said.
JMM spokesperson further stated that BJP is misusing the powers of central agencies by creating trouble against its political rivals.
“Sentiments of more than 3 crore people living in Jharkhand are with our CM. He (Hemant Soren) became Chief Minister after receiving a huge mandate from the public. He wants to develop Jharkhand and they (BJP) want to interfere in it. They are misusing the powers of Central agencies and thinking about how to create trouble for their political rivals,” he said.
The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has issued a summons to Chief Minister Hemant Soren in a money laundering case, sources in the agency said on Saturday.
ED has asked the Jharkhand CM Soren to join its investigation in the alleged money laundering case on August 24.
Earlier on August 14, Soren was summoned by the ED in connection with an alleged land scam case. However, Soren did not join the central agency probe citing he was busy with the preparation of the Independence Day celebration in the state.
