Rich tributes paid to Tribal leader Birsa Munda as Samba admin celebrates Janjatiya Gourav Diwas

SAMBA, NOVEMBER 15: The Gujjar and Bakarwal Hostel in Samba witnessed a jubilant congregation organised to commemorate the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda celebrated as Janjatiya Gourav Diwas.

The event was presided over by the District Development Commissioner, Abhishek Sharma and attended by district officers, including XEN, Vijay Kumar Attri, Chief Education Officer, Kewal Krishan, Warden Gujjar & Bakerwal Hostel, Rashid Alam, Local Tribal Officer Samba Saleem Alam and Member DISHA   Mukhtiyar Choudhary.

Birsa Munda, revered as a freedom fighter and social reformer, dedicated his life towards spreading awareness among tribal communities in remote areas. The event commenced with a patriotic spirit as students from Gujjar & Bakerwal Hostel inaugurated the celebration with the singing of the National Anthem. The vibrant program showcased a myriad of talents, including singing, Gojri speech, dance, and a painting competition.

The winners of these competitions were duly recognized and honored with prizes, presented by the District Development Commissioner, Samba. The celebration not only paid homage to Birsa Munda’s enduring legacy but also emphasized the significance of nurturing and acknowledging the talents of the youth.
