RO 65-Basohli AC chairs meeting with Nodal Officers

KATHUA, AUGUST 30: The Returning Officer, Valobashi AC, Anil Kumar Thakur (ADC) today reviewed election related preparations, here at meeting of election staff.

The meeting was attended by ARO Basohli, Sagar Vishwakarma (Tehsildar), AERO Mahanpur, Radhika Sohan (Tehsildar) and other Nodal Officers entrusted with various election-related tasks such as the Model Code of Conduct, postal ballot papers, transport, EVMs, etc.

In his address, the Returning Officer provided detailed information to the Nodal Officers about their responsibilities. He instructed the Nodal Officer in charge of the Model Code of Conduct to ensure strict enforcement of the code in the Basohli constituency and to take legal action against any violations. The officer also directed the nodal officer responsible for transport to create an efficient transport plan for polling parties to reach the polling booths.

The officer further instructed the AC SVEEP Nodal Officer to conduct awareness programs at various locations to encourage voters to exercise their right to vote. He asked the Election Expenditure Observer to keep a comprehensive record of the expenses incurred by different political parties during the election. He further directed the Nodal Officer handling postal ballots to prepare a list of citizens over 85 years of age and differently-abled individuals who are unable to reach the polling booths, ensuring that they can cast their votes from home.

The RO urged all Nodal Officers to diligently perform their duties to ensure that the elections are conducted transparently and fairly.
