BARAMULLA, FEBRUARY 06: In a display of swift action and community service, road connectivity was successfully restored to the remote village Marbal in the Sopore Sub-division of Baramulla District after being cut-off from the region due to heavy snowfall.
Under the supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, Shabir Ahmad Raina, a team of dedicated officers mobilized resources and snow cutters to ensure the timely restoration of road access to Marbal village.
The proactive response from the local administration was met with gratitude and appreciation from the villagers, who lauded the swift intervention that facilitated their connectivity to the broader sub-division in a record time.
During the visit to Marbal village, community members voiced their concerns to the ADC and the visiting officers and presented a series of demands to them including the urgent need for road connectivity to Yembarzalwari, upgradation of the power network, robust provision for water supply and establishment of a middle school within the village premises to address the educational needs of the local students, who currently endure long commutes to access schooling facilities.
The ADC assured the villagers that their demands had been duly acknowledged and would be prioritised for action in coordination with the concerned government departments.
Furthermore, Raina directed the Food and Supplies department to ensure ample ration supplies in Marbal village to handle the demands of the community during adverse weather conditions.
