Road Safety: MVD B’la organises multiple activities at Sopore

BARAMULLA, FEBRUARY 06: As part of the National Road Safety Month, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Baramulla today organized a series of engaging activities to raise awareness about road safety among students and the general public.

The activities, including a Painting Competition and an Essay Competition on Road Safety, were conducted at Sanctorium School Sopore. 

Regional Transport Officer Kashmir, Syed Shahnawaz Bhukhari graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, RTO Kashmir said that the ‘Road Safety Month’ is being organized every year to educate people about the road safety measures. He stressed for complete adherence to traffic rules and regulations to avoid accidents, thus saving precious lives. These activities were organised to imbibe traffic sense and promote responsible road behavior from a young age. 

ARTO Baramulla, Muazzam Ali emphasized the role of education in cultivating safe driving habits and outlined various initiatives undertaken to reach a wider audience with road safety messages.

The competitions saw enthusiastic participation, with 25 students showcasing their artistic skills in the Painting Competition and 20 students expressing their views on road safety through the Essay Competition. The top performers will be honored during the closing ceremony of the Road Safety Month.

Earlier, a student rally on Road Safety was organized in collaboration with Government Degree College Sopore. Students carrying placards with road safety messages participated actively, underscoring their commitment to promoting safer roads.
