Rozlyn lashes out at Ranveer Allahbadia for disgraceful jokes on parents

Actress Rozlyn Khan is one of the most bold and courageous performing artists indeed. The real-life 4th stage cancer survivor is a woman of her words and she doesn’t really hesitate from calling a spade a ‘spade’. She has already been in the news for going all guns blazing to expose Hina Khan’s alleged use of cancer as a tool of publicity. At a time when the majority of public figures shy away from sharing their honest perspective, Rozlyn stands tall and expresses her opinion to good effect. Currently, the actress isn’t very happy with the way things panned out at India’s Got Latent show where Ranveer Allahbadia made a joke in poor taste about parents and their sexual lives. Immediately after the clip went viral, netizens have been slamming Ranveer for the same and not just that, a lot of actions have also been initiated against him and others involved. Rozlyn too isn’t particularly happy with the way things were discussed casually about such a sensitive issue. On being asked more about the same, Rozlyn shares,

“I feel he has gone too far as a comedian. We are a modern Indian society but also not that modern to accept sexual jokes on parents. He is apologising at a time when things have gone viral and legal action has been initiated. So, he actually can’t help it. This is a lesson for fellow stand-up comedians to know the limitations of Indian society while dealing with jokes. Jokes should be about fun and humour and not at the cost of insult and derogatory statements against elders. We should value our culture and not everything is cool for the sake of going viral on social media. This isn’t the kind of humour that we want. As people in positions of power and influence, they should use it for good productive and inspiring stuff instead of such cheap tactics. I hope they have learnt a lesson.”
