Rs 5 lakh unaccounted cash seized amid election vigilance in Kishtwar

The police team, led by Inspector Vikram Singh and PSI Pintu Raina, intercepted a Tavera taxi (JK02AV 1937) traveling from Gadool in Anantnag district. Mohammad Ashraf Reshi, a resident of Deller Chatroo, was identified as carrying the cash.
As per authorities, Mr. Reshi was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for the source of the large sum of money. Following established protocols, the police seized the cash and handed it over to the Election Flying Squad Team (FST) stationed in Chatroo.
This incident comes amidst heightened vigilance in Jammu and Kashmir due to the upcoming elections. SSP Kishtwar, Abdul Qayoom, applauded the police team for their alertness and highlighted the importance of adhering to cash carrying regulations during the election period. He emphasized that such measures are crucial for ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process.
The police investigation into the source of the seized cash is ongoing.
