SAG Awards 2024: Taylor Zakhar Perez shares unusual experience with a fan
Los Angeles [US], February 25 (ANI): At the SAG Awards 2024, American actor Taylor Zakhar Perez shared an unusual experience with a fan, People reported.
While speaking with E! on the red carpet before Saturday’s awards presentation, the Red, White & Royal Blue actor said that a fan followed him to China and back to the United States when carpet anchor Loni Love asked him about his weirdest fan experience.
“My wildest fan encounter? Somebody followed me to China and then followed me back home,” Perez said on the carpet.
“So that was interesting. Yeah, that was wild. I’d say that’s wild.”
“Yeah, yeah, she was great,” Perez added when the host asked to clarify that he “[was] okay, though.”
Perez, who is attending Saturday’s SAG Awards presentation as one of the actors guild’s ambassadors this year, along with Ted Lasso’s Phil Dunster, declined to elaborate on the scope of this fan contact.
The actor did discuss the possibility of a sequel to ‘Red, White, and Royal Blue,’ the 2023 romantic comedy in which he co-starred with Nicholas Galitzine (the film was based on Casey McQuiston’s 2019 novel of the same name), as per People.
“I do – I think it’s up to Casey McQuiston because I think she has the opportunity to tell a cool story,” Perez said.
In the film, he played the fictional son of the United States’ first female president, who falls for an English royal (Galitzine).
“So we’ll see, with Amazon Studios, what they say, what Casey says and [director Matthew Lopez], but fingers crossed.”
Perez and Dunster were selected SAG ambassadors for the guild’s awards event Saturday because they “exemplify the utmost values of the profession and are positive role models for the next generation of performers,” SAG-AFTRA stated in a press statement on February 14. “These individuals actively use their platform to advocate for humanitarian and public service endeavours.”
The 2024 SAG Awards will take place on Saturday at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles, and they will be shown live on Netflix.
