Sajjad Shaheen demands improvement in dilapidated road network in remote areas in Banihal
Conducts two days extensive tour to several villages
BANIHAL, March 1st; National Conference leader (NC) and District President Ramban, Sajjad Shaheen, conducted an extensive two-day tour to several villages in the Banihal constituency to assess the issues faced by the local populace.
During his visits to Amkote, Chapnari, Bankoot, Thachi, and Khari, Shaheen interacted with various people from different segments of the society who highlighted problems such as drinking water scarcity and unreliable power supply, particularly troubling during Ramadan.
Shaheen emphasized the dire condition of road connectivity, notably mentioning the deteriorating conditions of the Khari-Mahu road , Banihal-Thachi-Mangit road and Neel -Chamalwas road which exacerbate the locals’ hardships.
He particularly referred to the frequent blockades of the Nachlana-Khari-Mahu road due to a sinking portion at Hirnihal in Khari Tehsil, expressing concern over the lack of substantial efforts to repair it.
He said that Complaints regarding non-functional utility services were also received from various areas including Pogal-Paristan, Neel, Sumar, Sarachi, Bajmasta, Chaka, Sarbagni, Bingara, Kumbla, Gool, Sangaldan, Batote, Gandhri, Rajgarh, Maligam, Arimarg, Buzla Senabati, and Tanka, Sumar, Dardahi and other areas.
Shaheen urged the State administration, led by the Lieutenant Governor, to address deficiencies in healthcare and education, emphasizing the urgent need for infrastructure improvement in remote areas, as well as filling vacant positions and ensuring adequate medical supplies in health facilities besides important in the road network in the entire district.
Latter, Shaheen visited the residence of Alif Din Naik in Thachi, who was injured in a recent heavy windstorm, to inquire about his well-being.
He was accompanied by party Block President Banihal and Khari, Haji Abdul Ahad Shan, Mohammad Ashraf Naik, Office Secretary Abdul Gani Wani, Youth Block President Shabir Ahmed Naik, Tehsil Block Vice Presidents Mohd Anwar Naik and Abdul Rashid Sheikh besides Mohd Yousaf Ganai, Mohd Hanif Naik, Mohammad Hussain Naik, Naseer Ahmed, Muzaffar Ahmed Naik, and others.
