Samba admin issues clarification on News Report
SAMBA, December 10: Samba administration has clarified the news report “Supply of Contaminated Water to 700 Households at Samba,” published in a section of press on December 8, 2023saying that the general public was not supplied contaminated water as immediate action was taken to address the collapse of the Dome slab at Tube Well No. 02 in Samba Town, ensuring the continued delivery of clean and safe water.
The damaged Dome was promptly covered with a waterproof plastic, preventing any contamination of the water supply. Plans are underway to temporarily cover the sump tank with Corrugated Galvanized Iron sheets, with a permanent concrete Dome structure scheduled for the following year’s capital expenditure.
In conclusion, there was no contaminated water supplied to households in Samba Town. Safety measures were implemented swiftly, and efforts are underway for a permanent solution to restore the sump tank. Resident well-being and safety remain our top priority.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner Samba has taken action against officials responsible for the delayed reporting and directed the concerned department to rectify the issues promptly.
