Samba Police arrests 3 notorious accused including thief, bovine smuggler & bootlegger
SAMBA, May 15 : Police under the guidance of SSP Samba Benam Tosh has arrested three (03) notorious accused including a thief, a bovine smuggler and a bootlegger, registered three FIRs and recovered stolen items, bovine animals and illicit liquor from them.
The arrested accused have been identified as Raj Kumar alias Raju s/o Baldev Singh r/o Narsingh colony Ghagwal, Maskin Ali s/o makhan Din r/o Goond Nagri district Kathua and Surinder Singh s/o Ramesh Singh r/o Chann Kanna, Ghagwal. Three separate FIRs have been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
A written complaint case was received at Police Station Ghagwal from DRB Infrastructure Private Ltd. company to the effect that costly items belonging to the company were stolen. Upon this, a case FIR No. 51/2023 u/s 379 IPC was registered, notorious thief Raju was arrested and stolen items worth rupees 45,000.00 (approx.) were recovered by Police. At Police Post Rajpura, bovine smuggling bid was foiled, FIR No. 50/2023 u/s 188 IPC 11 PCA Act was registered at PS Ghagwal, accused Maskin Ali was arrested and bovine animals were rescued. Police on a specific tip off, conducted raid at suspected place and arrested notorious bootlegger Surinder Singh red-handed while selling illicit liquor. A case FIR No. 49/2023 u/s 48 (F) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
The arrests have been made by police team comprising of SHO Police Station Ghagwal Bharat Bhushan, PSI Ibrar-ul-Haq and Incharge Police Post Rajpura Sudhir Singh Charak under the supervision of Deputy SP Garu Ram Bhardwaj and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary.
