Samba police arrests absconding murder accused on the run since 2022
In a breakthrough, Samba Police have successfully apprehended Zakir Hussain, also known as Jagga, a hardcore accused who had been evading arrest since 2022 in the Zakir murder case of Bari Brahmana. This arrest signifies a crucial development in the investigation into the heinous crime that shocked the region.

Zakir Hussain, wanted in connection with FIR No. 187/2022, faced charges under sections 302, 307, 364, 323, 427, 147, 148, 201 IPC, and 4/25 Arms Act of PS Bari Brahmana. Through persistent efforts, the police conducted a series of raids to track down the elusive accused.
The murder occurred on October 3, 2022, at 10:40 PM, involving an attack on Zakir Hussain as he was returning home from a marriage function at Balole Khad Bari Brahmana. A group of criminals targeted him, resulting in his tragic demise, with his companion sustaining serious injuries.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh, expressed satisfaction over the successful arrest, emphasizing its significance within the broader efforts of the police force. Tosh highlighted that, in the past eleven and a half months, Samba Police have apprehended 168 hardcore criminals involved in various cases, including murders and attempted murders.
