Samba police thwart bovine smuggling attempt, rescue 10 animals; smuggler arrested
In a commendable action, the Samba Police successfully foiled a bovine smuggling attempt, rescuing ten animals and apprehending the smuggler on Tuesday. This marks the second such successful operation in two consecutive days, demonstrating the police’s commitment to cracking down on illegal animal transportation.

According to reports, a police party stationed at the Mansar checkpost intercepted a truck for routine inspection. Upon closer examination, officers discovered ten bovines crammed inside the vehicle, tied cruelly and transported without any valid permission.
The police swiftly apprehended the driver and registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PCA) Act. The truck used for the illegal activity was also seized.
