Samba police thwart bovine smuggling attempts: Smuggler arrested, 8 bovines rescued

In a relentless effort to combat the menace of bovine smuggling, the Samba Police achieved a significant breakthrough by foiling two separate smuggling attempts on successive days.

The operations, conducted under the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal and Police Station Samba, resulted in the arrest of a notorious bovine smuggler, the rescue of eight bovines, and the seizure of two vehicles involved in the illicit activities.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act against the accused.

The rescued bovines are currently undergoing veterinary care to ensure their well-being before being handed over to the rightful authorities. Investigations are ongoing.
