Samman Diksha: GDCW Kathua NCC Army Wing Honours Its Rising Stars
On September 2, 2024, Government Degree College for Women (GDCW) Kathua witnessed a momentous event as the NCC Army Wing hosted the “Samman Diksha” felicitation cum rank ceremony for its cadets of the 2023-24 session. The ceremony, held at 11:30 AM, was graced by the esteemed presence of Colonel Kuldeep Kachru, Commanding Officer of the 4 J&K Battalion NCC Jammu, who served as the chief guest.
The event kicked off with a warm welcome to Colonel Kachru by Principal Dr. Savi Behl, CTO Dr. Gurpreet Kour, the NCC committee members, and the cadets. The highlight of the day was the rank ceremony, where several deserving cadets were recognized for their leadership and commitment. The following cadets were appointed to new positions: SUO Muskan Thakur, JUO Komal Sharma, JUO Janvi Sharma, Senior Sergeant Bharti Devi, and Junior Sergeant Meghali Abrol.
A special moment of the ceremony was the felicitation of SUO Muskan Thakur by Colonel Kachru and Principal Dr. Savi Behl for her exceptional performance and dedication to the NCC. Muskan has had an illustrious journey, marked by participation in prestigious national camps like the Thal Sainik Camp 2023, Republic Day Camp 2024, and the Youth Exchange Programme in Kazakhstan 2024. Her relentless commitment and achievements have not only brought pride to her institution and battalion but also set a new benchmark for her fellow cadets.
In his address, Colonel Kuldeep Kachru encouraged the cadets to aim for more national camps and shared valuable life lessons. He also lauded Principal Dr. Savi Behl and the college staff for their dedication to providing quality education and opportunities for the cadets.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Gurpreet Kour, CTO NCC. The Samman Diksha ceremony was a resounding success, leaving the cadets inspired and motivated to reach even greater heights in their future endeavors.
