Addressing the gathering, Sangita Dogra, expressed her deep anguish and outrage over the incident. “This heinous crime is not just an attack on an individual but on the entire womanhood. We stand united against such atrocities and demand that the perpetrators be brought to justice without delay. Our candle march is a peaceful yet powerful way to show our solidarity with the victim and to remind the authorities that justice delayed is justice denied,” she said.
Dogra also emphasized the need for stronger laws and their strict enforcement to prevent such crimes in the future. “We are committed to creating a safe environment for every woman in this country. Today’s march sends a clear message that women are not alone; the BJP Mahila Morcha will always stand by them in their time of need,” she added.
