SANKALP HEW Mission Shakti Bandipora conducts Bal Sabha on Environmental Awareness, distributes Educational Kits
BANDIPORA, AUGUST 11: In a significant initiative to promote environmental awareness and gender sensitization among young girls, SANKALP HEW Mission Shakti Bandipora, under the Department of Social Welfare, organized a Bal Sabha at Dak Bungalow, Sumbal.
The event was tailored for adolescent girls from economically weaker sections of Block Hajin and Sumbal and formed part of the ongoing Swachata Pakhwada campaign.
The Bal Sabha featured engaging sessions where students were encouraged to express their views on environmental care in daily life. District Mission Coordinator and Zonal Cultural Coordinator led the event, fostering an environment of empowerment and open dialogue among the participants.
Educational kits were distributed to students identified by the Chief Education Officer’s office for their active participation. The program included impactful awareness sessions on key topics such as environmental conservation, gender sensitization, and government schemes aimed at the empowerment of the girl child, including Mission Vatsalya.
Financial Literacy Specialist and CHL Counselor provided valuable insights into these subjects, emphasizing the importance of the child helpline for support.
The event was attended by distinguished guests, including the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Sumbal, Cultural Coordinators, and various teachers from schools across Hajin and Sumbal. Officials from the Tehsil Social Welfare Department were also present, underscoring the significance of the initiative.
As a concluding activity, participants took a pledge to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings. This was followed by the distribution of pamphlets and a rally cum cleanliness drive in the vicinity.
