Sat Sharma chairs preparatory meeting for Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations
Jammu, April 02: Jammu and Kashmir BJP President, Sat Sharma CA, chaired a preparatory meeting to review the arrangements for upcoming Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations. The event commemorates the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution and a champion of social justice and equality.
The Committee Members for this event Mahila Morcha President Sanjita Dogra and former District President Parmod Kapahi, briefed Sat Sharma CA about the preparations for different programmes to be undertaken from April 13 to 25.
They shared with the party president that ahead of Ambedkar’s birthday, the party activists will clean the statue of Dr. Ambedkar on April 13, the premises will be decorated and lighting of lamps will be done in the evening. On the next day, the Ambedkar Jayanti, on April 14, statue of Dr. Ambedkar will be garlanded and sweets distributed, besides collective recitation of the Preamble of the Constitution.
Then from April 15 to 25, a series of programmes like visiting and cleaning the SC colonies, providing drinking water facility to Anganwadi Centres and schools, organizing debates, awareness workshops etc, will be undertaken.
Sat Sharma CA emphasized the importance of organizing the celebrations with full dignity and respect, reflecting Dr. Ambedkar’s lasting legacy.
He said that under the nationwide programmes, the Jammu and Kashmir BJP too has been assigned to hold a series of cultural and educational programmes aimed at promoting Dr. Ambedkar’s ideals of equality, justice, and fraternity. These programmes like seminars, workshops, panel discussions, cultural performances, and exhibitions showcasing his contributions to the upliftment of marginalized communities, should be organized with wider publicity and mass participation.
“Ambedkar Jayanti is a day to honour the immense contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to our nation. Our efforts aim to ensure that his principles of social equality and justice continue to inspire future generations,” Sat said.
Former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan, former VC Rashpal Verma, senior leaders Rajiv Charak, S. Amrik Singh, Ankush Mahajan, and others also attended this meeting.
